Format
Diversity Forums will work with institutions to tailor presentations to the specific needs of a target audience. The typical forum opens with comments from 3-4 panelists on issues identified in advance by the audience, followed by broader discussion which is facilitated with attention to the means by which divergent opinions can be presented in constructive ways that lead to new insights and solutions.
Key Topics
Diversity Forums encourage participants to explore and expand their attitudes regarding:
- Affirmative action
- Diversity in the work place
- Gender, Race, Class
- Globalization
- Training
- Corporate vs. ethic cultural norms
- Coaching and mentoring
- Democracy and World Politics
Audiences
Whether they are executives, government employees, faculty, students or community activists, participants in Diversity Forums will be invited to submit questions regarding the issues most pressing to them. The Forums will be most useful in settings where participants can come together themselves and continue to pursue the issues discussed and develop ways to deepen their understanding and perspectives.
Small Group Sessions
During the day, our panelists are available to talk with large or small groups and will customize the day’s events to meet the needs of your business. Our discussions will create a safe space to ask these difficult questions that cross lines of differences and to have your employees learn and hear from different perspectives.
Forum Participants
We recommend that institutions invite employees representing all sectors of diversity in your community. The panel includes business executives, educators, public officials, and community organizers who work towards the goal of enhancing the educational experience of institutions by exposing them to new perspectives and ideas and increasing their awareness of diversity in our society.
